Jeanne Century is the Director of Science Education, Research and Evaluation at the Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Chicago. She is a leader in STEM education research and even worked with President Obama on his administration’s STEM strategies. Recently, she shared some of her thoughts about STEM education.

When Ohio's STEM school system was established, the new schools weren't meant to be oases of the progressive technique; separate from the state's other institutions of learning. Instead, STEM schools were seen as the first step in transforming Ohio's educational system to meet 21st Century goals.
