The Educational Council, a consortium of Franklin County districts that oversees the science- and math-focused school, voted unanimously yesterday to convert Metro from a countywide program into its own school. It would be open to students across central Ohio; students would no longer need permission from their districts to attend.
“Part of the mission of Metro is to educate students of all different districts in a common environment to demonstrate that this style of education that Metro brings is a style that works with all types of children,” said Eric Fingerhut, former state chancellor for higher education and Battelle’s Vice President of Educaiton and STEM Learning.
